The Single Traveler Network is a free, curated private community for travelers from around the world. We aim to create long-lasting, quality friendships, connections and travel experiences for individuals, couples and families who are passionate about travel.
To ensure that our community is filled with real, genuine, travel enthusiasts, we have established an easy to follow registration and vetting process for all our members. The vetting process is not designed to exclude anyone from our community but merely to verify that we are accepting real people & real travelers.
Given that our number one goal here is to encourage our members to connect int the real-world, the following registration process has been put in place to guarantee the safest possible experience for you and all our members.
Step 1) On-line Application
To join our by invitation-only community, each member must fill out an application form comprised of several questions which we use to get to know you as well as to understand how we can better server the global community of nomads, travelers, and adventurers. The application form also helps us ensure that you are a real person and that you share a real interest in travel. We will always aim to provide our members with the best possible social experience so it is important for us to know you and your needs.
Step 2) Phone Verification
Your journey into our community starts with verifying your identity, ensuring a safe and trustworthy environment for all. Along with your application, you will be asked to provide a current phone number we can verify via SMS (USA only), Whatsapp, Viber, or Wechat. Upon receiving your application, you will receive a message via the platform of your choice asking you to verify your name and the specified security passphrase from your application form. Completing this step lets other members of the community know that you have been phone verified and that you are a real person.
Step 3) Official Document Verification (optional)
Optionally, you have the choice to provide a photo of one form of identification which can be a passport, driver’s license, or other current official form of photo identification. Additionally you will be given instructions for submitting a selfie that proves it is you who are requesting identity verification. Verifying your identity in this fashion will give you a badge to let others know your identity has been verified plus it will give you access to dating and advanced search features.
Should you choose to verify your identity, blurring of information such as ID numbers and addresses is requested to protect your identity. The purpose of the photos is only to verify that you are who you say you are and that you are being honest about your identity. Your information will never be shared with anyone, nor will it be stored on our servers, and will be deleted immediately upon completion of your vetting.
To reiterate, the vetting process is in place only to verify that we are accepting real persons and not to exclude anyone. Entry into our community is free and simple… if you’re a real person.
Step 4) Introduction Video (optional)
All members are encouraged to provide a short 1 to 3 minute video introducing themselves to other members of the community. The video will be displayed prominently on your profile. You can take this opportunity to let others know anything you want about yourself and although this step is optional, choosing to do so will allow you to view introduction videos submitted by other members.
Step 5) Personal Video Interview (optional)
We understand that it is sometime difficult to talk about yourself, especially when you’ve done some amazing things which others may not know about. The sole purpose of our curated community is to help you connect with others so let us do the heavy lifting for you. If you choose to participate in a personal interview, one of our dedicated staff will conduct a free, short 3 to 5 minute video interview to get to know you and to learn more about you. Having done so will earn you a badge, access to premium features and a customized “About Summary” for others to see based on the information gathered during your interview. We will also be featuring members in our weekly newsletter and will select featured members from those who volunteered to conduct an interview.
Premium Features
Our community offers free premium features such as dating, searching for people nearby, seeing common traits with other members and much more. As our number one goal here is to connect members both online and in the real-world, each member can gain access to these free premium features upon completion of ALL 5 steps outlined above. Membership to our community is free but we also want everyone to feel safe and free to connect with others.
Platinum Features
Our platinum membership is a paid subscription plan that unlocks features such as connecting with other platinum members, group trips, weekly events such as language/cooking classes, book clubs, offline speed dating and much much more. Platinum members are regularly invited to all events, can interact freely with other platinum members and have access to hidden profile details and other features. Upon successful completion of the vetting process, you will receive a one-time invitation code that is meant only for you. This code will allow you to register and join our exclusive community. It will also allow you to refer up to 5 friends, family member or acquaintances.
